She has written an entire book of love poems, but broken it down into different sections - different aspects of love. I find that to be a key part of the book's appeal. Regardless of where you are romantically, you will probably find one poem - or perhaps even an entire section - to which you can easily relate.

The poems in 'Searching For Shore' relate to many of the ups and downs one finds while first in a relationship, and covers a large part of the emotional spectrum one feels while doing so. Finally, 'On Dry Land' is about one of the rarer treasures in the world - true, lasting love.

Grove City - Columbus Neighborhoods

I appreciate the sense of comfort that the poems convey in this section, as opposed to the first two. This book is a pretty quick read, due largely to Brandice's knack for using just the right amount of words needed to paint an emotional picture. In addition to her gift of brevity and clarity, I found that above all there's a real sense of creativity in what she does. I had never though of comparing love to kettle corn until reading Columbus Groove.

I hope to see more from Brandice in the future. One person found this helpful. I don't usually consume a lot of poetry, but I practically inhaled this entire book. It's wonderful to be able to express yourself powerfully and paint an entire emotional picture without using many words. The author is truly talented. Map updates are paused.

The Grove Buffet, Columbus

The collection of poems is divided into three sections: I'll admit there were probably a few poems that didn't quite hit me as hard as others I read "Good in Bed" aloud to my sister and she gave me a very perplexed look in response , but I found something to enjoy in the way they contributed to the whole of the work thematically.

I would definitely recommend it as a solid collection of contemporary poems. Thanks Brandice for sharing this collection of poems with me - I enjoyed them a lot, and look forward to your future books, and I hope you have a happy Spring as well. Feb 21, E.

Lewis rated it it was amazing. I suppose it is about time I actually write a review considering I initially read this book over two yeats ago and have leafed through time and again since then. To my great pleasure, I also have had the opportunity to personally know the author which adds to the themes behind the verse. The most attractive aspect of this collection of work is the amount of empathy the author was able to draw, no yank, from me for the voice telling the story.

True this is a collection of poetry, but there really I suppose it is about time I actually write a review considering I initially read this book over two yeats ago and have leafed through time and again since then. True this is a collection of poetry, but there really is a story being told.

It is story of love and loss, of joy and sadness, of freedom and imprisonment. Maybe I go to far but when I, a fairly conservative person, read these words I am certainly moved and happy to be so. I thought it looked interesting when I entered but these poems have exceeded my expectations.

Editorial Reviews

The mix of serious, light-hearted, and romantic poems really captured my interest. Columbus Grove has relate-able poems similar to feeling we all have. Dec 03, S. Schnabel's poetry is real and evocative. The stages of love and growth framing her words is relatable and sometimes heart-wrenching. Through her verse she shares a personal story of movement and through all, thriving life. What a gift to share so clearly and deeply without being wordy.
