Only suggestion would be to give it one more good edit. I didn't find any typos but there were a couple of spots where the flow was a little rigid and a little refinement on the sentence structure might smooth it out. Love the hometown look, particularly because not a lot is written about this time in Michigan - Hemingway did a couple of shorts from the region in Men Without Women that were very well done and gave you a flavor for the kind of people you might find there.
