Barrons GRE Flash Cards
A great starting point to help those lacking in the vocabulary department. I would also recommend the Manhattan Prep flash cards and the magoosh vocab section. You can do it, just dedicate the time.
These were the best study aid I bought for the GRE, by far. The layout and form of these cards is also nicer. The front of the vocab ones has the word in boldface, followed by its part of speech, a context clue, and a space for you to add your own clue which I didn't use.
The back has the definition usually list of synonyms and similar phrases , antonyms which were VERY helpful for the actual test , a complete sentence, an example analogy, and a little hint.

If I had to take the exam again, I'd buy these. In fact, I lent my cards to a friend who took hers and she raved about these cards after her test i. The math cards are also good review. It basically takes the Barrons book which is also one of my preferred study aids and puts it into card form. There are different types of math questions testing quantitative ability, basic knowledge, multiple choice, etc. This is definitely a good investment. The cards are also made of a better cardstock than the kaplan paper ones and come pre-hole punched with a ring to keep them together.
These cards were perfect for carrying in my purse and bag while studying. The ring that comes in the box opened and closed well for ease of replacing cards as I reviewed words and math facts.

I was nervous about taking the GRE 20 years after getting my undergrad degree. I was able to feel confident walking into the test. I absolutely love these flashcards. In all honesty the words that I personally encountered on my GRE weren't nearly as hard as some of these cards, but you never know what you're going to get with the GRE so it's best to prepare for the worst.
Math Cards I thought these were very easy, but the challenging part about the math section on the GRE is the actual problem solving, not memorizing like you would do from any flash card. I mainly bought these cards for the vocab section anyway. I think learning math from a study book would be much more useful than flash cards, Barron's or otherwise. Flash cards have always helped me study and these cards are no exception.
The Ap was far less expensive than this product, consisted of far more "cards" and was super convenient to study on the go. If you are considering purchasing flash cards as part of your preparation for the GRE and you have a smart phone I would recommend considering an Ap. Other than that the cards in this set are beneficial, I give the product 3 stars for comparative value to other competing products.
I recently took the GRE and I found these cards to be super helpful. The cards are broken down into different segments- from vocab flash cards to math rules to math practice problems. The math rules section was probably the most useful part for me. Quite a few of those rules are useful time savers aka math "tricks" that I didn't see in any of the GRE books I also purchased.
They somehow fit really thorough answer explanations into the math questions section which was awesome. Overall, I'm really glad I purchased this set! I like the flash cards but if you don't want to spend money on these cards just download the app called Quizlet and Type in the search GRE words and Kaplan, Barron's, and Manhattan Prep words will pop up.
It have these same words. Also you can play games with them. I didn't not like the fact that these word did not give a pronunciation. I use both the flash cards and study from the app Quizlet. These cards will help provide a good foundation for the verbal section of the GRE. But to shoot for a higher score, I recommend mastering these cards first and then going for an advanced set of cards and doing an in-depth study of root words, prefixes, and suffixes. One niggle about these cards is that they are smaller and flimsier than cards from other brands.

I'm really happy that I went ahead and purchased some pre-made flash cards. Reviewing of these per night is very accessible and I have saved a lot of time and effort by not having to write my own cards by hand. It had a nice O-ring and the pronunciation key was better. Also the cards were thicker. This was the best way to go.
Good to carry, you would love to learn more words as you proceed. Has variety of words, but cards are flimsy and not laminated. Be careful, cuz the fray easily. I carried a few different cards each day at work and it helped me study on the go!
