There are a lot of great authors around that inspire controversy, and I couldn't help but throw my opinion into the mix with this one. Perhaps what bothers me the most about some of the reviews is that they are criticizing and rating this book down, while simultaneously throwing shameless plugs for other 'superior' series.

There is something fishy about negative reviews with advertising attached. I know the Amazon Indie lit scene is pretty cut-throat, but they could sure stand to be less obvious On a much more positive note, I deeply enjoyed this book! The world is immersive, the characters develop in a very natural and compelling way, and I got a clear sense from reading the first book that I have a lot to look forward to in the coming novels. I sincerely hope that readers can look past the smear campaign and see a great Indie fantasy series for what it is!
You won't regret it here.
If you are always looking for captivating engaging books that will keep you absorbed and yet not end too fast, then both of the first two books of this series are a welcome treat. I actually found the first book to be the better of the two, perhaps more because the characters are great and there is a good solid mystery that is the focus of much of it.
The second book had some great development, creative challenges, and overall action which keeps one reading all the way to the end and wanting more.

There are about three things that hold me back from giving 5 stars: So, at the prices, for the fun of reading, and for their length I really really like this I got a feeling that it was a mix of Harry Potter and Fellowship of the Ring. The plot was good, not great The characters were pleasant I don't wanna everything about their past, leave that for a sequel.
The action flowed nicely. The interaction between the characters was good. Again, not deep, but good enough. The story of a young mage who has the ability to shape metal, and has trained as a swordsman. Now a guardian at Harry Potter type of magic academy. He runs afoul of a group of magical cultists that have a nefarious plot. He relies upon family and friends to help him.
