As there are so many King Snake species to cover the book is not extensive on any single specie however for a book of this type if you have purchased a King Snake or are thinking about buying one this book gives you enough information to care for it properly.

    It wets your appetite to learn more about King Snakes. Also the price of the book is very reasonable. All in all a good starter book on King Snakes which are a fascinating group of snakes to learn about and they tend to do well in captivity.

I found this book to be an excellent source of information for a first-time snake owner. I recently adopted a California Kingsnake and other than the information I acquired from caring for them at work, as I work for a major pet store chain, I knew nothing about their care. This book provided information on everything one would need to know on their basic care from what to look for when purchasing this particular snake to feeding and setting up their habitat.

    I cannot comment on the chapter on breeding because I really just skipped through it as I am not interested in breeding my kingsnake; however, on just a quick glance though, it did look very detailed and informative.
