    Write a product review. Most helpful customer reviews on Amazon. The above Penguin Classics edition is translated by J. Underwood and has an introduction by Amit Chaudhuri. Benjamin's writings are as listed in the above book description. I found Chaudhuri's introduction only partially helpful, but of course the value of this book is Benjamin's writings. Prospective readers may want to know that a book was previously published in London in by Harcourt Brace with the same title and author.

    The London book contained several of the same Benjamin writings as the above Penguin book, but not all of the above Penguin writings, and the London book does have a few other writings which are not in the Penguin book. The London book contains an introduction by Susan Sontag and an informative publisher's note. I do not see a great deal of difference in the Benjamin translations, per se, however the Susan Sontag introduction and the publisher's note in the London book are well worth reading they can be found online.
