Taming the Alpha (A Werewolf Romance) (Crescent Moon Series Book 1)

This is a novella length story and the fir My Thoughts - 3. This is a novella length story and the first in the series. From the glimpses that I have seen of the world created by Savannah, it is pretty cool. Since this book focuses on their relationship issues, you do not get a lot of details on the world.

I think it is going to get better as the series goes especially as I become more invested in the characters: I recommend this book to those who love the personal drama involved in shifter relationships and to all the Katie Reus fans who already love everything she writes: It might have been the length of the novella, but it felt super rushed.

When we finally started to get some action, suspense, that signature heat combusting between he MCs, it flared and then was just as quickly got snuffed out. It was a promising plot but ended too quickly for my taste.

Her stories still have a touch of intrigue, suspense, or the paranormal and the one thing she always includes is a happy ending. It just felt anti-climatic. Thanks for telling us about the problem. More of a HFN, surprising for paranormal shifter books. When Grant shows up for their Friday night sex meet he finds her dressed in a killer dress and fuck me heels but she isn't dressed up for him.

Overall it was a good read, but I need a meatier read now. After tip-toeing around each other and their crazy strong attraction, they agree to get together. He is a workaholic, basically. Tahlia finally decides to call Grant out on his behavior and how it all makes her feel. Throw in some minor and I mean super teeny tiny! After some explanation and apologies, these to confess their love for each other and Grant promises to never take Tahlia for granted again.

I really felt like things never really had a chance to get fleshed out. This story gave the bare minimum and never delved deeper into anything substantial.

For example, we are told Grant and Tahlia knew each other for a year before they do anything about it. The story literally opens after the month of non-stop sex and Grant and Tahlia having their first fight. It just seemed like this was a story that already started with no real beginning. It just felt anti-climatic. I will say that the smexy times were still scorching hot and very memorable!

I would gues-stimate between ish. When he realizes that his busy schedule and alpha duties have tarnished his relationship with Tahlia, he becomes more mindful of the situation and sets out to prove Tahlia is everything for him. Main Pursuer of relationship: This was an RU listen.

He waited a year, trying to fight off his attraction but couldn't wait any longer and broke all his no employee-human-fraternization rules because of his feelings for her. The sex is scorching hot off the charts. Really, no complaints there. Issues are, Talia doesn't know he's a shifter. Doesn't even know of the existence of them and Grant is so busy he basically shows up every Friday night and rocks her world and sometimes he forgets to call her. Enough is enough for Talia though and this particular Friday she makes arrangements to go out with a girlfriend and Grant is floored.

He realizes they've never established what exactly their relationship is and it's something Talia needs and he wants to give her. Now he has to prove to her she's so much more than a booty call, he wants her for his own.

I liked Grant and Talia. He recognizes what she's asking for and wants to give it, he just has to find a way to tell her what he is.

Talia isn't being unreasonable, she cares for Grant and knows her heart is already his. She understands he is busy but she wants to have a place in his life and feels like an afterthought. I like the way their story played out, it just ended very abruptly and though it was an HEA I would have liked there to have been "more" with the formalizing their relationship. Mar 15, Cheesecake rated it it was ok Shelves: I listened to this one on audio and it was quick but still kinda boring.

I liked the characters, but the story was predictable and not engaging.

Taming the Alpha

Maybe it needed more humour or some humour? Talia is tired of Grant coming to her for Friday nights sex like clockwork but their relationship never goes any further. But there's a lot about Grant that she doesn't know.

I didn't really see what the attraction was between the MCs besides the obvious sexual one.

I liked this one a lot, but it is shorter than I expected. Would love to read a full shifter book by this author.

Dec 15, Amanda rated it it was ok. Not much of a storyline, just sex and standard shifter reveal. There is nothing that stands out to make me remember this other than the fact I paid a dollar for this, and it was a waste. Feb 25, SheLove2Read rated it it was ok Shelves: I hate to say any book is "ordinary", but that's the only word coming to mind.

Decent writing, average shifter - based storyline, nominal amount of angst. It wasn't bad, but nothing really stood out either. Grant is an alpha werewolf in a shifter town and he runs everything - he's busy with his pack and his bars and he's enjoying his arrangement with Talia, his employee that he can't keep his hands off of.

But she's sick of the arrangement because she wants to be more than a Friday-night booty call.

So she calls him on it and leaves him hanging while she goes out with her friends. This is the wake up call Grant needs to finally make that commitment to Talia and to reveal his secret shifter abilities to her.

This was just okay. It had some pretty steamy scenes and I definitely could feel the chemistry and attraction between Grant and Talia. There's a small little action scene with vampires going on, which I think works into the larger series along with Rex and I'd like to see how that turns out.

Mostly though, I didn't care for Talia's maturity level, so it affected my enjoyment. I mean, sure, tell yourself it's over and it's time to move on, but it didn't feel normal that she's just jumping back on the dating wagon immediately.

Her constant insistence that she wanted to be all important and wanted him to call her every day, unprompted, felt a bit too needy for my tastes. But Grant apparently wasn't peeved by it, so it worked out all right in the end. Jun 17, Mei rated it it was ok. There is no doubt that Grant and Talia have chemistry, but that is all this story accomplishes.

Everything to Lose Aug 11, When the alpha of the Kincaid pack asks him to join with them, he's stunned by the offer, but the real draw is the beautiful, caring female who seems to want nothing to do with him. Margery is the driving maternal force for her pack and she has one rule: Years ago she was nearly killed by rogue vamps and she has no interest in getting involved with one now.

Pack princess Alyssa Clare was trying to come up with ways to get out of her arranged mating to alpha wolf Reece O'Shea - until she meets the powerful male. After getting to know him, mating doesn't seem like such a bad idea anymore. But when he makes it clear she's just a business arrangement for him and his pack, she calls off the mating and heads south to stay with a friend to lick her wounds in private. Charlie thought Andrew was different from other males, that what they shared was real - that their connection was the rare mating pull.

But a true mate wouldn't have ghosted on her the way he did. So no matter what he wants, she's not playing his games. To capture her heart for good, he'll have to prove he's worthy of a second chance. Even if that means he has to give up everything, including his pack. Then she met Hudson. Instead of the no-strings attached fling, she ended up falling for him. Instead of risking her heart, she ran.
