I know a little about writing and all I can say is that I envy this author's writing talent. For those of us who struggle with finding an appropriate birthday gift or Christmas gift each year, this is a great solution.

Also populating the story is a villainous character named Slive, who kills, steals, and double-crosses as easily as breathing. The story hinges on two main emotions: The first of these, of course, revolves around Eva. To pass the time and seek some outlet for her unsettled thoughts, Eva writes letters to her dead mother. What George and Eva both see in the other is virtue, something that seems to be distinctly lacking in their world of carpetbaggers, wounded men, and utter social and political chaos. You are introduced to many families in the community and will find yourself wanting to know more.
Great work Mr Grede. I'm a NON-fiction military history buff and don't have a lot of time to spend on romance novels. I got pulled into reading the book on the military aspects: Of the 50 chapters, maybe 3 or 4 are military And for once I actually enjoyed reading a love story! South and North coming together as 4 years of blood shed winds down And I like the twist at the end!
