And with the Wild Hunt at their head, the over-stretched Imperial Army may not be enough to stop them. Two of the three great Suvaeon keeps that held the north have fallen. I liked the protagonist, the Priest , and a couple of others.

I liked the ending. It gives room for the Character to grow. Lastly , but most importantly, these stories are only as good as the Villain is bad. The Writer waited to long in bringing the Villain forward. That is why I gave it four stars. We will see if the Villain is developed beyond what was here. One person found this helpful. Not only do we follow him as he begins a new life honing his magical skills; we also observe the knightly order, as it attempts to find solutions to its present-day problems, by uncovering the past. The story is unique and I was grabbed and sunk happily into its world. Book one is good, but then you get book 2 and 3. And even after struggeling through 3 volumes, it's not finished.

The bad guys are also interesting, although we don't get quite as much depth to them as we do the good guys, something that I hope is improved on in the next novel. I'm not saying it's a complex book at all, quite the opposite, but it took me over six weeks to read as my firstborn arrived close to the start and frankly keeping up with anyt This isn't really a review, which may strike you as odd I admit Cooper manages to create a very real world for the story to take place, and done so without much info-dumping, but I would have liked to have found out a little bit more. In this genre, the hero is a hero at least partially because not of what he or she does but because of some innate power or right that he or she has. But he does does wonder what he really is. The story becomes repetitive and tedious, and I lost interest in the characters. Well worth the time to read though I wish the price was lower for the e-book version.
