Also checked out the authors website. Made pancakes for the grandkids on Father's Day. We had a Blast!! We saw the creator of this book on Rachel Ray. My husband is the pancake maker in our family and I purchased the book for him for Christmas. The pancake creations he has made have turned out really well. We bought some all natural food coloring and some plastic ketchup squirt bottles to put the mix in and that's all we needed.

You can also use regular food coloring or the book tells you how to make your own natural food coloring if you want. The book also has pancake batter recipes but we have just used boxed pancake mix. My kids absolutely loved this book. This book is awesome and so much fun! The ideas in it are rather creative and they show you exactly what shapes to make to put together each pancake creation.

We have created so many fun pancakes with inspiration from this book. My toddler asks for whale and star and fish pancakes all the time. I dont think we could ever go back to regular boring pancakes! Somewhat embarrassing admission, given the target audience of this book: I don't have kids. Somewhat saving argument, given the previous admission: I have a wife who loooves Jim's Pancakes the site this book is based on.

All of these "sort ofs" add up to one awesome book that turns breakfast into a combination of building blocks and art. I have yet to have someone take a look at this book and not go, "Oh this is amazing! But how did he See all 25 reviews.

And since pancake is selling so expensive outside I cannot understand a simple food made with the cheapest ingredient with just flour, egg, milk, sugar and some butter can cost so much? I still love the soft yummy pancake made by hb. And when I come across this book from Net Galley, I could not resist not to request it.

I have never expect it can be so much fun making pancake! The book covers the tools required for making pancake. Recipes for making standard pancake and other types of pancake, for example pumpkin pancakes, banana pancakes. It also tells the natural food coloring used for the pancake. The author also shares the tips and tricks, on adding juice coloring to the batter, how to draw with the squeeze bottle, guidelines on cooking etc.

For each recipe, it shows the preparation needed, step-by-step how to create the pancake shape, and how to fit those pancakes into the plate for the intended shape. The author has divided the recipes into 5 categories: Animals Real and imagined , Insects, and Ocean Life e. I'm sure kids going to enjoy eating those pancakes! And you can use your own imagination and creation to come out more pancake recipes for yourself! As for me, I'm going to ask hb to make some pancakes from this book this weekend.

Don't look at me like I'm being crazy because I am not at least not anymore. The things is that I hated cooking too, so I searched for books that made cooking fun.. Books with simple recipes, books with great pictures, books with imaginative-looking food. This is one of them.
