These stories are a quick read that kept this reader swiftly turning pages. I have read other books by this creative author who also writes children' books with a special and engaging flair.

I look forward to more reading enjoyment from his future books. This is a wonderful collection of short reads with one tale serving as framework for the others. John and Bob are on a fishing trip and begin swapping stories to pass the time. Cleverly done with fishing interludes between each short story, this is a fast-reading book that is hard to put down.

The author knows how to spin satisfying tales with wonderful twists. My favorite was "Twinsies," but all of the stories including the main one are gems. An enjoyable collection of short stories that are entertaining. Two men are out fishing and exchange "scary tales," and the ending to their fishing trip is quite amazing. My favorite of the short tales was the Halloween story which was quite imaginative and profound.

I'd actually give this a 3. I really liked this device and wouldn't have minded if the framing story had been given more space. The short stories themselves are solid and entertaining, with some unexpected twists on top of expected twists. All in all, definitely worth reading. Some gems amongst a collection of highly readable stories!
Yet another page turner by an author who loves to surprise the reader. Mythology meets science and speculative fiction and the result is creepy, mysterious, apocalyptic, fun, funny even, yet always clever with amazing punchlines.
