I use all three when studying the bible but he Haley's and the Unger have a similar goal and complement each other well. I was in the hunt to find a bible study guide that gives historical info. I checked both Unger and Halley's. I decided to go with Halley's.

Halley's was more compact.

The New Unger's Bible Handbook

I have it on all of my computers as part of my Bible Explorer Library.. The entire handbook is very informative and the diagrams as well as photos are absolutely wonderful.

This is an extremely useful Bible study tool, I wouldn't be without. I also have a hardcover version of this book and it is wonderful as well, besides being a wonderful verse by verse study tool, I could spend hours looking at the pictures and charts.

It is very well done. So glad it is available as a Kindle book. Well worth the cost. Unger himself was a brilliant and godly scholar. Also, the massive tome, "Explore the Book", by J. Lastly, but certainly not least, I've found the two medium-sized paperback books, when combined, make for one great Bible Handbook. A Short Guide to its History and Message".

With the Ungers and these you will gain a good understanding of the scriptures. One person found this helpful. Purchased this for my 9th grader. Using it for my bible study group, too.

Great pictures, charts, readability. Easy to reference and understand set up and keys. I recommend this handbook.

I have others, and this is now my favorite. The Unger's Bible Handbook is an excellent review of the entire Bible with pictures, Jewish tradition and history that brings you to a better understanding of the scripture, based on the times it was written. Sometimes in the Bible there are sayings that were Jewish sayings and they are explained.
