I asked around a lot to finally decide what to buy, since I was a rookie myself. A bunch of my musician friends told me that I couldn't go wrong with this one. And man they were right! The item arrived on time and nicely packed.
So if you've already purchased a stand, you're good to go! It's a little smaller than the 88 models but has a lot of rhythms and tones. The item comes with a beginner book which contains a bunch of song sheets some might find helpful especially since sheet music is mostly not free! But the collection of rhythms of them and tones different ones is the real deal! If you use your creativity, you could really get something out of this keyboard. I knew nothing about pianos when I bought this instrument about 4 months ago. It is really great for beginners.
The keys are not like the ones on the cheap keyboards empty underneath , and you could really get a good sound out of them by pressing hard, or play a soft, smooth tune.

I feel like everytime I sit down with it I figure out something new on it! My kids love the microphone part of this keyboard where they can say something and have their voice be changed into silly tones. The buttons can be overwhelming and intimidating but with practice it gets easier. Like I said though this is a great keyboard to start with and grow on. My boys have never shown interest in music before and lately they have been trying to play songs on this. I love that it is teaching them an appreciation for music, even though it is not really organized right now.

I honestly like the battery choice because we seem to keep tripping over the cord. I think too we will add a keyboard stand and set this up properly.
