She made excuses for every invitation until a chicken invited her to jump over the moon with her. The chi Summary- This book is about a cow who lives in a pasture and all she does all day is chew and chew on grass and never does anything else even though she says that she is constantly bored. The chicken said that she didn't want the cow to give anymore excuses and that she should just try and try until she got.

The cow then agreed to try it because it did look fun but at first she wasn't able to do. The cow never gave up though and was able to jump over the moon and was always wanting to try new things after that. Themes- I found two big themes in this book; don't be afraid to try new things and when you do don't give up on the first try.

Personal response- This book reminds me of when I was younger and was to afraid to try to new things because I was afraid of failure. Even to this day there are things I won't try because I like to stay in my comfort zone and don't like to go too far out of it. This book also reminds me that when I did try something new and different that I shouldn't give up on my first mistake but to keep trying until I was able to get it down.

Recommendation- I would absolutely recommend this book because it teaches life lessons that every child should know like trying news things and never giving up. But along with life lessons it also teaches and shows children how to rhyme and how to recognize when something does rhyme. Feb 14, Julia Weast rated it it was amazing. You'll have to read the book to find out. The only reason I didn't give it a full five stars is because I would have liked it if the entire book rhymed or didn't rhyme. I think it would have flowed better. But it's still a sweet little story to read to the kids!
