If you find something he might have missed, drop him a line via his website at [ All in all, this is a great guidebook and well worth your time if you are even remotely interested in lighthouses. When we travel now, this book goes with us! I was very disappointed when I got this book. It has necessary facts about each lighthouse, but the only directions were latitude and longitude. I was hoping for driving or access directions. Also, the lighthouses were listed alphabetically. I want to make a list of lights to visit in order of close proximity to each other.

Perhaps it would be useful if bought with an area lighthouse map for each area visited. I would also recommend American Lighthouses by Bruce Roberts and ray Jones, even if it is a bit outdated. Great for planning our trip. Shows the lighthouses in each area.

The information for each lighthouse is easy to read. Much to take into consideration. I purchased a quantity of these guides for sale in a bookstore affiliated with the Assateague Lighthouse. I am still trying to get over the inaccuracies and inconsistencies in just one listing.

Being most familiar with the history of the Assateague Lighthouse, you can imagine my dismay when this "guide" informed me that the lighthouse in question was built in and was automated in How is that even possible? In FACT, the construction on the lighthouse was started in and due to a delay caused by the Civil War, it was not completed till This is just the first of many incorrect statements in just ONE listing.

I invite all lighthouse fans to check for other inaccuracies and do a public service by reviewing here. It is a shame, as this is an attractive book, but some fact checking and proofreading would have gone a long way to making it useful. Only awarded one star since I cannot give zero.
