I enjoyed Classic Bedtime Bible Stories as it relayed Old and New Testament knowledge, but in a way children can grasp, break down and remember. Each story leads to the next in a timeframe that stays true to its biblical period.

I also liked the colorful large illustrations that went with each story. These lovely illustrations help the little ones understand the story. The stories are from both the Old Testament and the New Testament so the children get a wide variety of Bible stories. Children need a good foundation to start their lives and Bible stories can start to root their faith in God.

I liked that there is a story for each day. It makes it so you don't have to stop reading a story and continue the next evening. Little ones have a short attention span and with the stories being able to be read one a night, you have a story for each day of the year. It doesn't have to be at bedtime. It could be anytime. Children love to learn new things. They love being read to to and reading themselves.

What also is nice is that you don't have to be a young child, you can be young at heart. It's for children and adults alike. A fun, interesting way to learn about the Bible. This is the perfect time of year to get this book for anyone as a Christmas gift or for any occasion. It can be put by the bedside and at sleepy time, a lovely story to fall asleep to.

Well, this one might be what you are looking for. The stories start with Creation and continue through Revelation. Each page is one day and is a summarization of a Bible passage.

The Bible passage from which each story is taken is referenced before the story is related. The illustrations are throughout and should capture children's attention. My only complaint with the illustrations is the lack of skin pigmentations. This area of the world was a major trade route so there should have been more racial diversity. There is an index at the back broken down into Old Testament and New Testament so that one can search for a person, place, or thing based on the Testament.

The book is hardcover with what appears to be a stitched binding. There is a red ribbon place marker attached to the spine so that one's place can be easily marked through the year. This book is aimed more towards younger children, I'm thinking 3 - 8 years of age. This is a time to share with your children so be sure to read the Bible references with your children to add more depth to the story beyond this short summarization.

I am very impressed with this beautiful hardcover book that was inspired by Jessie Lyman Hurlbut's Story of the Bible. There are Bible stories listed chronologically according to their order in the Holy Bible and each page features one Bible story with the Bible scripture referenced.

I also appreciate that there is an index that lists the names and subjects mentioned in these stories and they are shown as either Old or New Testament entries.

I found this to be a wonderfully and insightfully written book for children.

I feel that it introduces the young person to the bible and its stories. Keeping the stories short and to the point is especially good for children, and a good end of day reading for them. The illustrations are very colorful and seem to be pointed toward the type of pictures that would interest children.

So, this review reflects how they feel about it. My granddaughters are ages 4 and 6. They really like the stories. According to my daughter, it's just like reading the regular Bible and it doesn't dumb it down. She says that it's perfect for the ages of her girls.
